Canisteo Town Supervisor Joe Harrington says, New York State, so far, has not helped out pay Canisteo Town Hall for August 2024 flood damage costs. Harrington says, the state was supposed to have helped out. along with FEMA. The Canisteo Town Supervisor also says, FEMA has agreed to pay for everything the town has requested from them, but the state has not. According to Supervisor Joe Harrington, the way it’s supposed to work is: the state pays 12.5 percent, the towns pay 12.5 percent, and FEMA pays for 75 percent of the cost of the repairs.
