Canisteo: Wind And FEMA News

September 13, 2022

In Canisteo, there’s proposed plans for Invenergy to put up 117 wind turbines that are 600 feet tall. The plans are, to start construction in 2025 and have them up and running by 2027 at the latest.

In other Canisteo news, Town Supervisor Jason Woodworth says, he’s still hoping that FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will come through for Canisteo. Last night, the Canisteo Town Board has voted to move $50,000, from one account to another, in order to help get some work done on the damage in the Town, as a result of the August 18th 2021 flash flooding. Woodworth noted that the damage was severe (well over $80,000) and that even now in late September of 2022, there are numerous people who cannot easily drive to their homes, because of road issues from the August 2021 flooding.
