CANISTEO, NY – Wind Company Invenergy says the Canisteo project has been somewhat modified by state officials: it will now be a 56 wind turbine proejct, instead of 117 turbines. That’s reportedly because the original proposal would be too much for the grid.
The wind turbines will be 591 feet tall, and the cost will be just under one billion dollars. Tree clearing will be done in the fall 2025 Delivery of turbines in 2026 and 2027, in the summertime, both years, and 2027 is the year they’ll be up and running.
The wind company hopes to do a phase two afterwards.
