Catholic Bishops’ Statement About Mental Health

The U.S. Catholic Bishops have released a statement about mental illness. Along with the statement came recommendations from the Catholic Conference about dealing with mental illness, where the safe act was criticized. The Catholic Conference encouraged lawmakers to return to the legislative language of “imminent threat”, as opposed to the new Safe Act law, which the Catholic group says requires medical health professionals to report anyone who is “likely” to hurt someone. That’s opposed to someone whose really threatened someone.
