STEUBEN COUNTY, NY – The proposed Steuben County Charter is coming up for a vote in the November 5th elections. County Legislative Leaders Swackhamer and Weaver both support the charter, as does Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, Mayor Shawn Hogan and most of the Hornell Common Council.
Hornell Alderman John Buckley has some reservations on the charter though. Buckley is concerned that the charter allows for town officials to become county lawmakers too, which Buckley considers a conflict.
