From Christina Hancock:
Christina Hancock Announces Her Bid For A Seat On The Common Council Representing Hornell’s 2nd Ward
Hornell, NY, March 26th, 2021- I would like to formally announce my candidacy for a seat on the City of Hornell Common Council, representing Ward 2. It is important to me to finally be able to give back to the community that has embraced my family. Growing up my father was in the military, which took us all over the country and the world. Although this was exciting, I missed the experience of being brought up in a beautiful, safe, tight-knit community, like Hornell. It was important to my husband and I that we raise our children here and, because of them, I feel that it’s time for me to help keep our city moving forward on a positive, productive path. My dad, Mike Cartella, spent most of his childhood in Ward 2 on Church Street and I am honored to continue that tradition by representing this part of our city.
If I am elected, my focus and priority will always be addressing the needs and the concerns of the residents of Ward 2, as well as the city as a whole. We are in the middle of one of the hardest times emotionally and financially because of the pandemic. I want to be there as a sounding board and an advocate, a strong voice that will represent the constituent’s ideas to the Common Council. I am hopeful that we will start to see job growth and the return of more small businesses as we continue to recuperate from the devastating effects of the past year. Even though I am running as a Republican/Conservative, I am excited to talk to all of the constituents in Ward 2 in the coming months and welcome an open dialogue from residents of all political affiliations.
