ALBANY, NY – New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie announced this afternoon that the Assembly has named three new State Board of Regents members. This is important, because the Board of Regents is very influential in making policy on Common Core.
The three new Board of Regents members are: Luis Reyes, Nan Eileen Mead and Elizabeth Smith Hakanson.
Also, the Buffalo News reports that an anti-common core educator from the Bronx, a former Bronx school superintendent named Betty Rosa, will be in charge of the board of Regents.
