Conflicting Polls About Reed/Mitrano Race

There are conflicting poll numbers, regarding the race for the congressional seat in the 23rd district, between Congressman Tom Reed (R, Corning) and his opponent, Tracy Mitrano (D, Penn Yan). A recent poll that was published by an Olean media outlet, shows Mitrano as being 7 points behind Reed, as of late September. That poll shows that Reed is ahead of Mitrano, 47% to 40%.

However, a poll from a Republican source, has Tom Reed at 54.6% and Tracy Mitrano at 35.9%, with 7.3% undecided and 2.2% supporting Libertarian candidate Andrew Kolstee.
