WAVERLY, NY – Congressman Tom Reed now has a Republican opponent in the race for the 23rd district House of Representative seat. In addition to Jamestown Democrat John Plumb, there is now another candidate: Gary Perry of Waverly, New York.
The Corning Leader reports that Gary Perry, an engineer, does not think that Reed’s votes in the House, have been conservative enough. “Tom Reed is a friend of mine,” Perry said. “I’ve put a lot of shoe leather on the ground, helping him run for office. He just doesn’t vote like a true conservative.”
