Congressman Reed Slams Iranian Deal

July 14, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC – Tom Reed issued the following statement on the potential nuclear deal with Iran:

“Obama’s Iran deal is politically motivated as the President is seeking a deal for the sake of simply reaching an agreement for the purposes of his personal legacy. Giving weapons and cash to Iran in exchange for empty promises is no way to protect America. While the agreement may temporarily delay Iran from getting a nuclear weapon during the next 16 months of Obama’s watch, the bottom line is that it allows Iran to become a nuclear state. A nuclear Iran is unacceptable to the American people and the world.

As this is a critical issue, we will continue to listen to our friends and neighbors across Upstate New York, and want to hear their thoughts on the President’s agreement. Please contact my offices with your thoughts.”
