Congressman Tom Reed (R, Corning) issued the following statement after 17 miners were rescued from the Cayuga Salt Mine in Lansing this morning:
“We care about keeping our community safe and applaud our world class first responders, emergency services personnel, and everyone else involved in the successful rescue of these hardworking miners. Thanks to their quick thinking and preparation, they were well equipped to handle this job and helped to reunite these people with their loved ones. We are glad to see the positive outcome and think that it’s only fair to acknowledge their efforts which make our region a better place.”
