Hammondsport, NY — Steuben County Department of Public Works Commissioner Eric Rose announced that the scheduled closure of County Route 76 (Hammondsport-South Pulteney Road) in the Town of Urbana has been revised. The closure is now scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, and Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day for pipe replacement work. The affected section of County Route 76 will extend from Sanford Road to Middle Road. There will be no onsite detour during the closure. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and use an alternate route while the work is underway. The closure is expected to be in effect only during the scheduled work hours. This is a revision to the previously announced closure dates.
