Cuomo Makes Justice System Changes

ALBANY, NY – Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order on Tuesday, directing the New York State Corrections Department and the Office of Children and Family Services to starting housing 16 and 17 year old juveniles, in an age appropriate correctional facility, in order to separate them from adult prisoners.
 
The governor is making conditions better for pregnant female prisoners who are transferred from one jail to another location or facility. The governor says they won’t be cuffed around the annkles when they get transported from place to place.
