Donald L. Watson, of Almond

Almond-Donald L. Watson, 52, of Maple Ridge St., passed away Tuesday (July 22, 2014) at his home after a long battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord. .

Born in Wellsville, September 19, 1961, the son of Raymond K. and Joan Heuer Watson, he had resided all his life in the Almond Area. Don was a graduate of the Alfred-Almond Central School class of 1979 and was a flooring installer for Mullen Factory Direct Carpeting in Almond. He was an avid outdoors man and was a Miami Dolphins fan. Don’s big heart for children was shown by his kind loving patience.

He was predeceased by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Drew-Watson of Almond, mother, Joan Watson of Belmont, sons, Theodore (Sarah) Quant Jr. of Hornell, Vincent, Brandon and Nicholas (Tiara Brown) Quant all of Almond, daughter, Anna (Kenneth) O’Dell of Hornell, god children, Gavin, Lucas and Emma O’Dell, grandson, Wyatt Quant, brothers, Dean (Carrie) Watson of Belmont and Dale (Tiersa) Watson of Almond, sisters, Kathy (Russell VanNostrand) Hooker of Arkport, Laura (Spencer) Conklin of Bath, Sharon (Martin) Woodard of Canisteo and Diane Burdick of Hornell, several nieces and nephews, special friend Jeff Grantier.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1Pm until 2Pm on Sunday (July 27, 2014) at the Canisteo Wesleyan Church, 25 Greenwood St. Canisteo, NY 14843. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2Pm at the church, Rev. Donald Maynard officiating.
