Egyptian officials have briefed the media about the downing of the Russian airliner over Sharm El-Sheikh. The initial observation does not allow for investigators to determine what caused the break-up. Investigators did determine that the plane went down 23 minutes after takeoff and a noise was heard on the flight voice recorder. The investigation is ongoing and it is too early to determine the exact cause of the crash.
