FROM NYSP: On June 6, 2026, at 10:30 P.M., Troopers out of SP Amity responded to State Route 70 for an unoccupied motorcycle laying on the north side of the shoulder in the town of Burns. Investigation determined that the 2024 Kawasaki was traveling west bound on State Route 70 and exited the roadway into the north shoulder, striking a signpost causing the operator, Jayson P. Mess, 50 of Canaseraga, NY to be ejected. Mess was located deceased in a ditch near the collision.
