Fatal Fire In Wellsville Early This Morning

ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – One person was killed when flames consumed a home at 129 Pine Street in Wellsville. It happened about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The initial 911 dispatch indicated entrapment inside the fully engulfed two-story single-family home. Reports said a second victim suffered smoke inhalation. Wellsville police were first on scene, followed closely by Wellsville fire and ambulance. Additional help was called from Scio, Willing, Andover, Allentown, Genesee, PA and MTS. It was 17 degrees outside when the water began to flow. The fire was declared to be out at 8 a.m. An Allegany County Fire Investigation Team responded to the scene, along with District Coordinators and Jeff Luckey, County Fire Coordinator. The cause remains under review right now.

The name of the person who died in the fire, has not been released.
