Final Results of Steuben County GOP Primary For County Judge

BATH, NY – The primary was held September 13th, and in the Steuben county judges race, after all the absentees have been counted, officials say that Chauncey Watches defeated Matthew McCarthy in the judges race on the Republican line, by 136 votes. It was Watches, 2,968, McCarthy, 2,832 in the GOP primary. Watches also won the Conservative Party Primary, Watches 61, McCarthy 47. McCarthy won on the Reform line, McCarthy 77, Watches 52. Steuben County GOP commissioner Vicky Olin says that in primaries, they don’t combine the other final results all together, from all the political parties. McCarthy can run as a Reform candidate in November. We spoke with Matthew McCarthy who said he’d have to speak with family and friends and see what he’s going to do as far as continuing in the race.
