April 29, 2026

FROM THE HORNELL FIRE DEPT: On Monday, the members of Shift #2 were dispatched to a construction site for the report of a worker trapped under approximately 10,000 pounds of steel. A-116, Rescue 61, Engine 83, and Car 94 responded. While en route units were advised that the steel beam was now off of the worker. Our members arrived on the scene and immediately began to treat the injured worker and further stabilize the beam. The worker was transported to the airport where they were then flown by helicopter to a trauma center. We pray for a speedy and full recovery for the injured worker.
