CANISTEO, NY – There was a single family home fire in Canisteo, in the 10am hour today, on Stewart Street. One of the people inside the home was taken to St. James Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The Canisteo Fire Dept described the house, as a total loss. Officials say the upstairs floor collapsed before fire fighters arrived.
The Canisteo Fire Department was assisted by South and North Hornell fire departments.
