SOUTH HORNELL, NY – There was a fire this afternoon at the South Hornell Fire Station. According to Hornell Fire Chief Frank Brzozowski, it appears at this point that the fire began in a garbage can outside and spread to the meeting room inside the fire station, causing damage to the computers, inside the meeting room. The fire was gotten under control by the South Hornell Fire Dept and the Hornell Fire Dept.
There were no injuries.
The county investigators are looking into the cause.
“Always hate to see this happen to such a good group of volunteers,” said Chief Frank Brzozowski. “They do such good work.”
