FROM READY STEUBEN/NAT’L WX SERVICE: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. Localized rainfall amount of 2-3 inches tonight in a few hours. WHERE: Steuben, Tompkins, Yates, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Onedia, Northern Oneida, Oneida, Onondaga, Madison Counties. WHEN. Through late tonight. IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low lying and flood prone locations. Flooding mayo occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Showers and thunderstorms developing across the area can be slow moving and lead to heavy rainfall and instances of flash flooding. Rainfall rates can near or exceed one inch per hour at times. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms over the same area can also result in localized flooding.
