HORNELL, NY – Former longtime Steuben County Legislator and Hornell City Alderman Rich Argentieri, of Hornell, has died. Rich Argentieri was also the long time CEO and CFO of the Hornell Erie Credit Union and was a U.S. Army soldier in the early 1950’s. “Rich was one of the good guys,” Steuben County Democrat Chairman Shawn Hogan tells our news department. “He was a public servant, on the Hornell Common Council and the Steuben County Legislature for decades. He served with distinction and honor, he was always looking out for the little guy and he always worked in the best interest of the people. He was a class act. Rich always tried to go the extra mile to be of help to anyone who may have needed it,” Hogan said. Shawn Hogan also noted that Rich had a great work ethic. “Rich worked at Hornell Erie Federal Credit Union until he was 86,” said Hogan.
Rich Argentieri was 93 years old.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Bishop and Johnson, Desanto Funeral Home, on Main Street, Hornell.
