The following message was sent to our newsroom, by Frontier Communications:
Frontier Communications will be completing necessary maintenance tonight that will impact 911 and long-distance calling for customers in the Alfred, Almond, Andover, Greenwood and Jasper, NY areas.
New fiber installation will be completed tonight between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Customers will not be able to make long-distance calls; however, they should be able to call locally within their exchange. For emergencies during this period, customers should dial local numbers for their fire, police and ambulance services.
