“The remnants of Debby that we saw coming up. This whole region, places like Addison, Woodhull and where we are today in Canisteo. This storm washed away homes, businesses, schools, destroyed within seconds. It makes me heartsick to think what your families have been through. It’s more than anyone should have to bear. Building a home within five years, three beautiful daughters, barely escaping. As governor, I’m committed to help this community come back. Because in a moment of crisis, we stand as one New York. I’ve already heard that people think they’ll be forgotten. I know these communities. You will not be forgotten,” Hochul said.
