Governor Wants Those Late In Paying Fines on Taxes To Lose Drivers License

February 10, 2015

ALBANY, NY – The Albany Times Union is reporting that Governor Andrew Cuomo wants to pass, as part of the budget, a new law that makes it so you can lose your driver’s licenses if you’re late in paying $5,000 in fines on your late taxes.

The current amount that causes taxpayers to lose their drivers license is when they owe $10,000 in fines for late taxes. The fines are also known as scofflaws.
