Governor’s First Term Accomplishments
Gov. Andrew Cuomo hit the campaign trail over the weekend bragging about his first term accomplishments, primarily getting same sex marriage through the legislature. Speaking to a group of supporters, Cuomo promised to work hard to get the legislature to approve easier access to abortion state-wide. While New York already holds the record for most abortions per year in the nation, Governor Cuomo pledged to push the legislature to allow more abortion centers in the state. He also pledged to work for equal pay for women in New York. So far, the Republicans in the State Senate have opposed Cuomo’s plan for easier access to abortion.
