ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – Alfred Village Police Chief Paul Griffith says it’s very icy there this morning. “There have been about six accidents this morning in the Town of Alfred,” Griffith tells WLEA News. “It’s mostly the major roads that are giving us the most problems, State Route 21, Route 244 and County Route 12 are the most travelled roads and right now those roads are packing up with ice and sleet. If people don’t need to be out on the roads, then stay home. If you’re an essential worker and you have to be at your job, just go slow, I would definitely use caution,” Griffith said.
