Hartsville Receives New Utility Truck

August 8th, 2018

HARTSVILLE, NY – The town of Hartsville was happy to announce Wednesday evening that they have finally received their new 2018 3/4 ton Dodge Ram utility truck. According to Town Supervisor John Bowles, the truck should have arrived 2 1/2 months ago. The cost of the truck was $28,000 plus the $499 for running boards.

Bowles also informed board members that the planning board will not be meeting for a while due to a health issue. When someone in attendance was curious about the function of planning board, Bowles replied that as soon as towers start going up, they will play an integral issue in handling problems that arise.

It was announced that the town may be getting a JCAP grant for upgrades in the Town Hall building. With that grant, the town is looking at buying a generator and installing much needed air conditioning in the building.

A work session was scheduled for August 29th at 7pm at the Town Hall to discuss updating the procedures manual, building permit fees, and their website.

And finally Bowles stated that the town has received complaints about noise on Hinkley Hill. According to people in attendance 4 wheelers are constantly on the road which is illegal. It was decided that no special noise ordinance needs to be passed and if further complaints come in in the future, they will be directed to the Sheriffs or Troopers.
