CANISTEO-Heather K. Young, 81, of Buffalo St. passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Nov. 15 following an extended illness.
Heather was born August 28, 1937 in Addison, to the late Leland and Arloween (Symonds) Kilmer.
She taught school at the Skyline Elementary School in Suitland, Maryland for 29 years. Heather taught music all her life and was exceptionally proud of her tower bell ringing at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
Heather is survived by a son, James Young of Nanjemoy, MD. two brothers, Royce Kilmer of Canisteo, Joyce (Emily) Kilmer of Chardon, Ohio, two sisters, Karen (Thomas) Morse of Canisteo and Lelane (James) Hoose of Easton, Pa. as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Heather’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Heather’s name may be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, N.Y. 14843.
