HORNELL, NY – Hornell Mayor Shawn Hogan: “The residents of Hornell deserve robust healthcare services that include inpatient beds,” said Hornell Mayor Shawn Hogan. “We most definitely are headed in the right direction, and I will do all I can to support the efforts of St. James and UR Medicine in securing the necessary approvals and funding for this healthcare transformation.”
Hornell Deputy Mayor John Buckley: “I am relieved and excited University of Rochester changed course and decided to retain inpatient beds at St James. This is a tremendous victory for our community. I am also pleased to learn U of R will restudy the need for a maternity ward. With approximately 300 births a year at St James, there definitely is a need.”
