ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – The State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Amity are investigating the murder of 82 year old Raymond Cornelius, of the Allegany County Town of Ward. According to troopers, Cornelius was found dead from a gunshot wound inside his residence, on Wadsworth Hill Road during the morning hours of July 3, 2017. Troopers also say that Raymond Cornelius last spoke with family members late Saturday afternoon on July 1.
“This is still an ongoing investigation,” state police report. “Anyone with information regarding the case or who may have been in the Wadsworth Hill Road area this past weekend is urged to contact the New York State Police at 585-343-2200.”
