HORNELL, NY – Last night the Common Council unanimously approved both the City budget and the water budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year. The general fund budget has an increase of 1.9% while the water budget saw no increase.
Mayor John Buckley said this year’s budget was challenging because of rising inflation that is negatively impacting City departments. The Mayor also said his goal was to keep the increase as minimal as possible as to not overburden residents who are facing soaring prices everywhere from gas stations to grocery stores.
