Hornell Gets $300,000 To Restore The Landman Building

May 22, 2025

Statement from Mayor John Buckley on Restore NY Funding for the Landman Building Redevelopment

“I’m pleased to announce that the City of Hornell has been awarded $300,000 in Restore NY funding to help advance the redevelopment of the Landman Building, a cornerstone of our Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and a proud recipient of DRI project funding. Located at 83-93 Main Street directly across from City Hall, this historic structure is set to be fully transformed into a vibrant mixed-use development.
The project will include the construction of a third story and will bring a dynamic combination of apartment units, retail shops, art studios, and a rooftop terrace to the heart of our downtown. This revitalization effort will draw more residents and businesses to Main Street, injecting new energy and economic opportunity into the community.

“We’re grateful for the continued partnership and support from Empire State Development, especially Omar Sanders, whose efforts have been instrumental in making this progress possible. This funding is another step forward in creating a more dynamic and thriving downtown Hornell.”
