HORNELL, NY – On Thursday October 8th and on Thursday, October 15th, the Hornell Republican Headquarters Office was filled with local supporters. The local GOP voters saw and met with Congressman Tom Reed on October 8th, and with Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes on both the 8th and 15th (though it was on October 15th that Byrnes was endorsed by the Hornell Republicans.
Both Mayor John Buckley and Hornell GOP Chair Paul Van Caeseele spoke at length, in endorsing Congressman Tom Reed. The two Hornell Republican leaders spoke of Reed’s hard work ethic and commitment to the people of the Hornell area, and the entire district. Reed thanked both Buckley and Van Caeseele, and talked about his work with the Problem Solvers Caucus, and how the Problem Solvers Caucus was an important part of the current Stimulus negotiations. That was on October 8th. On October 15th, local Republicans came out to see and support Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes, and hear her be endorsed. “As Chairman of the Hornell Republican Party Committee, we are formally endorsing Marjorie Byrnes for NYS Assembly,” Hornell GOP Chairman Paul Van Caeseele stated. “Marjorie is a sincere proponent for the ideals of the majority of upstate NY residents. She is an energetic and involved champion for her district and treats Hornell’s citizens like family.” Mayor John Buckley had similar words of praise for Byrnes.
“Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes has been a tireless advocate for residents and a staunch defender of traditional, conservative values. She genuinely cares for the people of the 133rd Assembly District continues to put public service over politics. I am proud to support her for re-election. ”
