BATH, NY – The Corning Leader reports that the Steuben County Legislature approved lowering the tipping fees Monday at the Hornell, Gang Mills, and Wayland landfill transfer stations for public sector solid waste.
“Tipping fees at the transfer stations Gang Mills, Hornell and Wayland were set at $44 per ton, down from $59 per ton for municipalities and other public sector organizations,” the article stated. “The reduction in fees is for municipalities and the public sector only, and does not affect the tipping fees for commercial haulers of household waste.”
