FROM THE SHERIFF’S DEPT: Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on March 17, 2025, Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joel V. Burdett, age 22, of Bald Hill Road, Hornell, New York, following an investigation of a person reportedly being assaulted with a baseball bat. It is alleged that Mr. Burdett intentionally caused injury to another person by means of a weapon, allegedly a baseball bat, while in the Town of Hornellsville. Mr. Burdett was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony. Mr. Burdett was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
