Last week we reported that Hornell Police released a statement about how a Hornell woman allegedly jumped out of a second story window, in order to escape a beating. She survived and was taken to Strong, for treatment of severe injuries.
This morning at Hornell City Hall, Hornell Police Chief Ted Murray publicly recognized the three police officers who went to the scene, Officers Pete McDaniels and Rob Donovan, and Sgt. Ryan Harrison.
“Our officers responded to an incident where a woman was being held in her aparrtment and actually ended up jumping out a second story window,” Murray tells WLEA News. “The officers who responded interviewed her and worked on finding out what took place. The investigation went on from there and an arrest was made the next day.”
The Hornell Police Chief also thanked Hornell firefighters Jim Marino and Matt Donovan who were very helpful to the victim and to Hornell Police, at the scene. “They both did a really fine job, and kudos to both Marino and Donovan,” Murray said.
