From Hornell Police Chief Ted Murray: “The Hornell streets are very slick in the City of Hornell right now, the salt trucks are out but it’s freezing so quickly after the salt trucks go by, it continues to freeze over right away. We’ve had several accidents this morning and if people can stay off the roads that’s probably the best scenario. If you have to drive, be very, very cautious.”
From Mayor John Buckley: Streets, bridges and sidewalks ice over quickly in these types of weather conditions. The Department of Public Works is treating Hornell City Roads and briges throughout the day and also gearing up for whatever snow is to come.”
