HORNELL, NY – From The HPD: The Hornell Police recently received a complaint from a local business that they were scammed out of $2000.00. An unknown person claiming to be a Hornell Police officer called the business from the Hornell Police Department’s number. The scammer claimed that payments received from the business were found to have counterfeit bills. The business sent the scammer $2000.00 dollars to rectify the issue.
