Hornell Police Officer Bill Murphy to Retire

Hornell, NY – At Tuesday morning Hornell Board of Public Safety meeting it was announced that Hornell police officer Bill Murphy will be retiring after 35 years of service on May 25th of this year. Hogan had nothing but praise for Hornell’s current longest tenured officer, who went to work for the force in 1981. Hogan and Police Chief Ted Murray will meet in the near future to discuss the vacated position.


 

Also Fire Chief Dan Smith was happy to announce that the city’s new fire truck will be delivered at the end of next week. Hornell also received a grant of $25,000 for new 2 ½ inch fire hose.
