Hornell Police: Two People Survive Overdoses – Another Person Is Charged For Allegedly Selling Drugs

FROM HORNELL POLICE CAPTAIN MIKE SEXSMITH: Shortly after 2:30pm on June 20, officers responded to 33 East Washington Street in the City of Hornell to a call for medical assistance. Arriving, police found two individuals within the home unresponsive from drug overdoses. Numerous doses of Narcan were administered by our officers and both subjects survived the ordeal. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Matthew Cornell, 40 years old, no permanent address. He was charged with 2 counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree and 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, and held for arraignment at the Steuben County CAP Court.
