Hornell School Board Allows Hats Inside The High School – Starting Today

April 20, 2023

When Hornell High School students walk in the doors this morning, they can wear hats – and inside. School Superintendent Jeremy Palotti and School Board President Chris Clark and the Hornell Board of Education, gave the okay last night to allowing wearing hats today, inside HHS. At the March Hornell School Board meeting, a group of students asked the school board to modify the student handbook, so that hats could be worn inside the school building. At that March school board meeting, Superintendent Palotti told the student that the board would visit the issue before the fall. However, Palotti explained last night that there was a change of minds as to when the vote would take place, and the school board addressed the issue of wearing hats at the Wednesday April 19 meeting, giving it a “yes” vote, and that was said to be, “effective immediately.”
