Battle of the Badge started in 2022. A few firefighters from the Hornell Firefighters Association Local #835 were trying to think of ways to bring together the fire dept and the police dept for a community event that was family oriented and fun. Together, with members of the Maple City Police Club, a board was put in place and a charity softball game was decided upon. And as they say, the rest is history. Money raised from this event goes towards multiple programs such as area youth sports and Hornell High School prom lock in. The largest amount of money raised goes to a person in the community that is facing medical hardships. This year we are sponsoring Cam Synder. Cam has been through a lot in his young life, with many more challenges ahead of him. The game is scheduled for July 12th, @ 7P.M. at Maple City Park. We hope to see everyone there.
