FROM THE ARKPORT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT: Last night at 12:41am we were dispatched mutual aid to South Dansville Volunteer Fire Company #1, Inc., for the report structure fire on Stage road in the Town of Dansville. The box was an open assignment for full response. Engine 69 and Tanker 9 responded.
South Dansville’s engine was on scene while we were in route and reported fire in the ceiling. Fremont Fire was also dispatched mutual aide and Car 18 confirmed it was an interior attack. Car 202 and Car 271 were on board engine 69 and went interior upon arrival. Fire was contained to one bedroom with minor extension to the attic. Car 2 was operating Tanker 9 and Car 201 responded to the station. At the request of Car 18, Perkinsville fire stoodby at the Fremont firehall and stood by for them and us.
On a cold snowy morning, it was a good knock down by first fire personal on scene and quick overhaul to make sure fire was out. Investigation was turned over to Steuben County Fire Investigation Team.
