Canisteo Town Supervisor Jason Woodworth has decided to accept the election results and stay on in office. Jennifer Dewey won the clerks race in November but afterwards declined taking the job. The former clerk Lee Ann Dickey has already retired. The Canisteo Town Board appointed a new clerk: Carly Askins was chosen by the board. Carly Askins will also be doing registrar and tax clerk duties. This is a one year job until there is an election.
The clerk pay is $17,000 a year. The tax clerk pay is $2400 a year and $150 a year for the registrar’s position.
Also Steve Cotton is becoming the town historian. Cotton takes over for Glenn Dickey. Mullen and Associates are staying on as the municipal attorneys for the town. Gary Hadsel continuies as dog control officer. Citizens and Northern will still be the bank used by the town board, and Five Star Bank will be the bank used for tax collection purposes.
