Jennifer Morey, of Arkport

 

ARKPORT-Jennifer B. “Jenny” Morey, 69, passed away peacefully Monday morning (April 7, 2014) at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in High Wycombe, England on Oct. 5, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Dorothy Wennington Burnard. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her two grandchildren, Johnny and Emma Osmin in 2003 and her sister, Rona Kinback in 2010.

She came to the United States at the age of three and has resided in the Hornell/Arkport area for most of her life.

A graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1962, Jenny was employed by NYSEG in Hornell, retiring as an engineering clerk in 2001.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Hornell.

Jenny thoroughly enjoyed her time after retiring and loved to care for her home, volunteering, writing poetry and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Jenny was also an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching every game.

A very happy person, Jenny will be remembered most of all for her very strong faith and her beautiful smile and laugh. Her motto in life was simply “be kind”.

Her loving family includes her son, Christopher (Sally) Dieter of Almond; her daughter, Joanne “Jodi” (John) Osmin of Arkport; her five grandchildren, Craig Dieter, Alicia and Hannah Henderson, Joseph and Jessica Osmin; her brother, Thomas (Barbara) Burnard of Alfred; also her nieces, nephews, cousins and her many dear friends.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Jennifer B. Morey.

To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. A private committal service will be held in her memory at the convenience of the family at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to their favorite charity.
