Jerry Richard Livingston, Sr. of Canaseraga
CANASERAGA: Jerry Richard Livingston, Sr. passed away at home July 3, 2014, after a hard battle with cancer.
He was born April 6, 1941 in Buffalo, NY to Martin Luther and Esther (Jepson) Livingston.
Jerry lived the early years of his life on Grand Island, NY, where he was active in the Rod & Gun Club, the Rescue Squad, and Trinity Church. After moving to the Canaseraga area, he became a social member of American Legion Fawcett Post 1582, a member of the Hornell Moose Club, the Hornell Association, and was a Past Exalted Ruler (ER) of the Hornell Elks Club. He was also Past Master of the Keshequa Masonic Lodge.
He was a self-employed carpenter all his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, fishing, boating and playing guitar.
Jerry was pre-deceased by his parents and 2 brothers, Charles and Martin, Jr.
He was married to the former Donnalee Wheeler who survives Also surviving are his children, Julie (Gregory) Swain, Jay (Noel) Livingston, Jody Schue, Jeff (Pam) Livingston, Renee Livingston, and Ryan (Leslie) Livingston, his grandchildren Jeremy (Angela) Swain, Jared (Laura) Pierce, Amber (Paul) Kehoe, Chad Pierce, Eric Swain, Kristen Livingston, Dillon Swain, Aaron Schue, Caleb Livingston, and Camden Livingston, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (Skip) Fred, his brother Ronald Livingston, his sister-in-law Gayle (Rich) Morley, and many nieces and nephews.
At Jerry’s request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held July 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Birdsall Community Church, 8959 County Route 16, Angelica, NY.
Arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY
Jerry’s family request that donations in his memory be made to the Canaseraga Ambulance Service, PO Box 322, Canaseraga, NY 14822.
