ALFRED, NY – Two female victims were kidnapped this morning in Alfred Station. Alfred Village Police Chief Paul Griffith reports that the two victims were able to escape their abductor, after he pulled into a gas station. The suspect is 36 year old Steven R Cox, Cuba, NY. Cox is charged with one count of Robbery in the 1st Degree, and two counts of Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree. Alfred Police, Amity State Police, Steuben County State Police, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, Pennsylvania State Police and Westfield PA Police. Sheriff Jim Allard said that this was a great example of inter-agency cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
