Land Bank Update

October 6, 2022

HORNELL, NY – The Steuben County Land Bank has recently demolished two dilapidated houses in the Hornell. One on Walnut Street and the other on Madison Avenue. Mayor John Buckley, who is a member of the Land Bank, says the removal of the two structures will greatly improve the quality of life of the neighborhoods. “The City of Hornell is in the process of acquiring the Madison Ave property which will be the site of a new single family home constructed by BOCES next year. The County Land Bank continues to be a great tool in helping address deteriorating properties in Hornell and throughout the County.”

Mayor Buckley also noted a property on Hartshorn Street has also been approved for demolition.
